Casey Wohl Meets Book Industry Experts

During my trip to LA, I had the pleasure of meeting several top literary publishers and agents. It was interesting to learn more about the world of book publishing and gain valuable advice from them.
I had a wonderful conversation with Sharlene Martin (in photo), an LA-based literary agent, about the Girls Getaway Guide series.
Again, it was a terrific conference and I cannot wait until the next MEGA in Nashville April 17.

Oprah Knows the Value of a Girls Getaway!

Even Oprah knows how important it is to particpate in a girls' getaway. In fact, she and her best friend Gayle King hosted 60 women for five days at the Miraval Life in Balance Resort and Spa in Tucson, Arizona last year. These hard-working mothers, daughters and wives took a break from their everyday routines for a luxurious lesson on putting themselves first. According to Oprah.com, choosing the winners was not an easy task. Nearly 50,000 people sent in stories to O, The Oprah Magazine explaining why they wanted to participate in this life-changing journey. "One woman was raped while holding her 2-year-old daughter on her lap. … Another woman, her mother died on her wedding day," Gayle says. "We had a woman who had quadruplets and already had two children."

Casey Wohl With #1 Best Selling Author Jeff Gitomer

WOW! What a fantastic presentation we heard from Jeff Gitomer, author of the "Little Book of ....series." All of his books have hit #1 on the New York Times Best Sellers List. Like him or not, Jeff provided his honest and straightforward insight into the book selling business. He also provided some great writing tips. My favorite recommendation is to start all of your writing with "Dear Friend." This entertaining presentation was one I will not forget!
