Casey Wohl - Girls Night in Palm Beach

I don't get to Palm Beach too often, so when I do, it is always good to see my cousin Nikki.
During a recent trip there, we went to dinner at ER Bradleys, which was established in 1984.
Located on the Intracoastal waterway and Clematis Street, ER Bradleys offers casual indoor and outdoor dining.
It was fairly cool the night we were there, but we did sit outside. Her friend Jen joined us and we had a very nice dinner.

Casey Wohl at Cheeseburger Key West

Our last stop before leaving Key West was Cheeseburger Key West. After several days of wonderful seafood, we were craving a great hamburger and french fries. Cheeseburger Key West did not disappoint. Due to the rain, we opted to sit inside while we devoured our delectable burgers. On a nice day, you can sit outside and watch the Duval Street happenings. If you are looking for a tasty burger in Key West, be sure to visit Cheeseburger Key West at 217 Duval. They love to hear your feedback.....even their plates read: "How was it?"

Casey Wohl Visits B.O.'s Fish Wagon

Ask any Key West local where to find a great fish sandwich and they will tell you to head straight to B.O.'s Fish Wagon. In fact, food fanatic Rachel Ray ate here during her visit to Key West. I will warn you that B.O.'s is not much to look at. In fact, you may drive right by it and mistake it for a run down, hurricane-damaged shack. But, wouldn't you know, B.O.'s offers some of the best food around.

Hemingway House - Home To Great Stories & Six-toed Cats!

Located in the heart of Key West's Old Town, the Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum (http://www.hemingwayhome.com/) is a very popular tourist destination. Hemingway lived and wrote several novels here for more than 10 years, including A Farewell to Arms.

The home is located across from the Key West Lighthouse, which they say helped Hemingway find his way home after late nights at the bars.

More than 60 cats still live at the house. Hemingway was given a "six-toed" cat by a ship's captain, and many of the cats that live on the grounds are descendants of that original cat.

"Papa," as Hemingway was called, was a character, and the stories about him, which you will hear on the tour, are truly one-of-a-kind. Key West still honors him with the Annual Hemingway Look-A-Like Contest held each July. While there, we had a wonderful tour guide who even looked like Hemingway!

Casey's Key West Getaway

I am back in Key West for the weekend, and Friday started out with a Wind & Wine sunset sail and wine tasting with Danger Charters. We had a great time! This is something I would recommend for any Girls Getaway in Key West. We had a fabulous crew who served several wines, cheese and crackers, vegetables and fruit during our 1 1/2 hour sunset sail. Other beverages such as beer, sodas and water were also available. Capt Dennis (pictured) even let me sail the boat for a while. The sunset was awesome, and there were so many sailboats on the water with us (in town for the 2008 Acura Regatta), which was very picturesque. I think I could get used to this!

Ft. Myers Girls Night Out

During a recent trip to the Ft. Myers area, my friend Carrie and I got together for some girl time, shopping, sushi and martinis. Carrie and I have been friends since middle school. She now has two children and was thrilled to embark on a Girls Night Out.

We met at the outdoor shopping area called Coconut Point, located in Estero. They have great stores like J Crew, Coach, Victoria's Secret, Bebe, J Jill and much more. After some shopping, we headed to Blue Water Bistro for dinner and drinks. I had the highly-recommended Berry Martini and Carrie had a Dirty Martini with stuffed olives.

After catching up and reliving our younger days, we indulged in a few sushi dishes, another round of martinis and headed home.

Even though we rarely see each other and have very different lives, it was so good to see her for a few hours and a fabulous Girls Night Out.

Happy New Year From The Getaway Girl!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope you had a very nice holiday season. I spent a fabulous New Years Eve at HUE Restaurant in Downtown Orlando with my friends (with Brandi in photo). We had a terrific meal and a champagne toast at midnight while watching the New York City festivities.

I wish you all the very best in 2008, and I hope to see you soon!
