Casey Wohl Visits Gaylord Palms New Restaurant Sora
If you haven't been yet, you should definitely visit the Gaylord Palms new restaurant, Sora, which means "sky" in Japanese. This trendy new addition to the Gaylord is a great place for the stylish and sushi starved. In keeping with the Gaylord's tradition of highlighting the various "vibes" of Florida, this new restaurants is modeled after fashionable South Beach hotspots. The entire place is decorated in blue, which is very soothing. Even the menus are fabulously blue and trendy.
Sora serves a "funky fresh" menu for lunch, dinner and in between snacking. A full bar features eclectic and hand-crafted concoctions. We had a fabulous lunch there, and I cannot wait to go back again. Sora is located adjacent to the resort's main lobby.
Pictured with Wohl are Wendy Kurtz, APR, CPRC (L) and Michelle Smith with the Gaylord Palms (C).

Casey Wohl Helps Promote Orlando Tourism
I was flattered when the Orlando Convention & Visitors Bureau and VISITFLORIDA.COM asked me to host their new video segment on Orlando shopping (a top activity during girl getaways).
So far, we've covered Park Avenue and Orlando Premium Outlets. This afternoon, we will be shooting at Mall at Millenia.
I was excited to pose with the "Welcome to Florida" bus yesterday. You cannot miss this colorful and inviting vehicle on the road.
If you are thinking about visiting Florida anytime soon, be sure and go to VISITFLORIDA.COM for everything Florida.

The first three girls to reply will appear in the video. Here is where we will be:

Thursday, Feb. 21 - Orlando Premium Outlets
Friday, Feb. 22 - Mall at Millenia

Casey Wohl at Paws in the Park
Orlando's Annual Paws in the Park event was held yesterday at Lake Eola. My best four-pawed girlfriend, Zoe, and I attended the event, which raises money for the Central Florida SPCA. The weather was perfect and we had a really great time, even stopping to take a photo in front of the lake's famous swan boats.

Happy Birthday Heather R!
Happy birthday to one of my best friends - Heather R.
We celebrated her birthday with a great lunch at Room 3 Nine.
(Heather sports her "Princess" banner in the photo.) I have known Heather for almost 10 years, and we have worked together for nearly eight of those years. We have been through several of life's trials and tribulations together, and we continue to be the best of friends. We have had some fabulous girl getaways, and I know there are more fun times together in our future. I am so fortunate to work with one of my best friends. Happy birthday!

Casey Wohl's Valentine's Day at Truffles & Trifles
I spent Valentine's Day with my best friend Heather N. at Truffles & Trifles (http://www.trufflesandtrifles.com/), a gourmet cooking school in Orlando. We had a fantastic time as we joined several other couples in making a wonderful meal, which we all enjoyed at the end of the night. Chef Marci Arthur provides delicious recipes and helpful cooking tips.
Heather and I are pictured with our Chicken Scarpariello. Just a few of the other items included: Rock Shrimp Temoura with Spicy Mayonnaise and Ponzu, Roasted Tomato Soup with Garlic and Strawberry Shortcake. As we prepared the meal, we made new friends and enjoyed our fabulous Valentine's Day together.

Fabulous Valentine's Day Tips From The Getaway Girl
I will admit – I am not a big fan of Valentine’s Day. If you have someone in your life, you spend too much time and money searching for the perfect gift, only to be disappointed when they either forget the entire day or pick up a last-minute gift from the neighborhood convenience store. If you don’t currently have that “someone special” in your life, you can easily become disenchanted by the hundreds of ads and media hype surrounding this commercial day.
I realized just how much I dislike February 14 when I found myself alone one Valentine’s Day, just three days after my divorce was final.
For a day that is supposed to be all about sharing love, I quickly became very anti-love and jokingly referred to myself as the Valentine’s Day grinch. Everywhere I looked, all I saw were happy couples, flowers, cards, jewelry ads, chocolates, and overflowing expressions of love. I couldn’t understand why they were so happy when my love life was less than flourishing.
However, I soon realized that I could not let this overrated holiday get me down. This was a holiday, and I was determined to celebrate. Part of the joy of girlfriends is that they are there to get you through and help you celebrate. So, in honor of girlfriends, here are some tips for all girls (single or not) to ensure a fabulous Valentine’s Day!
Plan an Adventure
Give yourself something to look forward to (like a fabulous girls getaway). An adventure could be an exotic vacation, wonderful cruise or a local weekend retreat. Don’t focus so much on the actual day of Valentine’s Day, but on an exciting adventure in your near future!
Pamper Yourself
Buy yourself cute Valentine's Day gifts, such as flowers, shoes or a very cute dress. Indulge in a day at the spa, read a good book, listen to your favorite music, relax in a warm bubble bath or cook a gourmet meal. Valentine’s Day is about showing love and kindness to someone you love and appreciate; why not include yourself?
Plan a Girls Night
There are so many things a group of girls can do on this special night. Plan a dinner date, see a movie, or have a slumber party. Host a “singles party” or “Un-Valentine's Day Party.” Go to a cooking class, catch a local sporting event, or indulge in a wine tasting. Life is fun in the company of loving friends.
Help Others
Spend Valentine's Day in the meaningful way by volunteering with a local community service organization. Visit an assisted living facility, hospital or orphanage. Feed the homeless or assist with literacy programs. There are always organizations in need of volunteers. Take this opportunity to show your love to others. It will make you feel very good about yourself.
Express Your Love
Express love and affection for people around you. Valentine’s Day is not just for couples, it’s to celebrate the love for the people you are close to, including children, friends, relatives, siblings and mentors. Don’t let it just be a romantic occasion. It’s about appreciating those closest to you, whether you are single or not. Send your sister a funny Maxine card or give your co-worked a small box of chocolate with a thank you note for being such a great co-worker. Spread the love!

Casey Wohl Cheers on the Orlando Magic
"Let's Get Ready to Rumble!"
Brandi and I were so excited (and ready) for our Girls Night Out (GNO) last night for the Orlando Magic game. Brandi is from Cleveland and cheered for the opposing team, but I held true to my Magic loyalty and cheered for the home team. I was disappointed with the loss, but we had a great night out and a fabulous time.
We cannot wait for the next game!

Casey Wohl - Orlando GNO
After a hectic month of traveling, it was great to return to Orlando and get together with my girlfriends for a Girls Night Out (GNO). We went to HUE for dinner and had a wonderful meal. The girls all had wine, and I had my favorite martini called the HUEsion. What a fabulous night!
