Heather and I had a wonderful time (and a great Girls Night Out) at Cirque du Soleil's Saltimbanco premiere in Florida. Everything from the set, costumes, music, dancing, comedy and acrobatics is AMAZING!The world permiere of Saltimbanco was held in Montreal in 1992 and featured a cast of 36 performers. During its 14-year tour, the show has visited 75 cities on five continents for a total of more than 4,000 performances before a combined audience of 10 million people.
The name "Saltimbanco" comes from the Italian "saltare in banco," which literally means "to jump on a bench." The show takes its audience on an allegorical and acrobatic journey into the heart of a city. Acts include: Chinese poles, bicycle, juggler, Russian swing, duo trapeze, hand to hand and bungee, along with clown and parody acts.
