The Rolex 24 in Daytona is the biggest race of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. Each year, drivers from around the world join Grand-Am regulars at the 3.56-mile track, which first hosted the event in 1962. Since Dan Gurney won that race, 61 drivers from the U.S. have taken a checkered flag in the twice-around-the-clock classic. But the U.S. contingent isn't the only one represented at this international race. Drivers from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Mexico and Italy are represented as well.
I was thrilled to be invited by the JLowe Racing Team (Car No. 64) for a behind-the-scenes VIP look at the race day preparations. From watching the mechanics prep the car to a full interview with JLowe Team Driver Tim Sugden of England (stay tuned for the interview) to the champagne toast at midnight, this event was really cool and one that I plan on attending again next year. Oh yeah...did I mention Dr. McDreamy himself Patrick Dempsey is there??

Anyone up for a Girls Getaway to the Rolex 24 in Daytona in 2010?
